I purchased a Swede M96 today and need to get a mold so I can shoot cast. Any suggestions from those of you that shoot cast in the 6.5 x 55mm? Thanks, Malcolm

63 degrees , wind calm, blue sky.
Just had to get outside and shoot some.
I took my friend Nick with me to the range.
We shot cast bullets from our Swede rifles at 50 yards.
I've found me a nice load. 10.3 grs. of Alliant Unique with just about any weight cast bullet you want to seat in the case.

All groups you see below were fired out of my Swede 96 Sporter with 18 X scope.
Here is a photo of my rifle that I used to shoot the groups below :

My loads are pretty mild.
I don't shoot my rifle with loads that generate 5,000 fps.

Cast should be fun and accurate !

I'll echo what Ben had to say -- I like the Lyman 266469, sized .266", with loads that run 1400-1600 fps in my Swedish Mauser rifles (10.0 Red Dot, 16.0 4227, 16.0 4198, etc.). My Swedish Mauser carbine, however doesn't shoot that bullet because it has a .267" groove and my 266469 drops bullets at about .266", so I had Mountain Molds make me a 6.5mm version of the RCBS 30-180-GC with .268" driving bands, and it shoots very nicely with the same loads as listed above.
