i have chance to pick up a LN Tikka T3. I have found some stuff on the web but wanted to ask if anyone has personal experience with them. I have owned A Sako in the past and they were fine rifles.
Thanks

I have two, a 223 short action stainless, shoots like it had eyes. never a problem, exceedingly smooth action, reminiscent of the old Krags.
#2 is a 22-250 M Varmint blued bull barrel digger squirrel accurate at 300 yards .
I don't shoot paper so I can't give you group tech. but suffice it to say, they are both sub MOA as evidenced by consistent red mist performance. That being said, I shoot jacketed in both, 60-70gr in the 223, 53gr sierra match hollowpoints in the 22-250.

O6 ' Tikka brings home meat.
I've been really enjoying my Tikka, 30-06.
I had settled on a super accurate load of 17.5 grs. of 2400
with a SAECO 301 HP to deer hunt with this fall and
winter here in Alabama . ( Hp work done by Buckshot )

I killed a nice 8 point buck . The shot
was made at about 40 yards and about 10 minutes prior to sunset.

The bullet fully exited the buck and left quite a bit of
trauma on the exit hole side. The deer went about 30 yards and pilled up.

This one will be some good eating. Don't let anyone fool you about cast bullets not being capable of taking deer sized animals ! ! !

Here I'm shooting a bit earlier in the year with 16.0 grs. of 2400 with the SAECO # 301 Hp ( Please excuse the " typo ", .........that should read Wolf Primers ) :

One of the slickest bolt action rifles that I've ever fired.

No personal experience ..but I can tell you three guys at one of the clubs went out and each bought a new Tikka for a deer hunt they go on down in the Carolinas...one was a 243, two .308's..they threw on god knows what scopes and set about sighting in at 100 yds..after about ten rounds each walked away with three shot clover leaf groups...so much for that,,

As for the bolt ...they are slick..theirs will close and open by just raising or lowering the barrel...nice quality all around ...

Price wise I thought they said they paid around $550.... each for theirs new..

I have that exact rifle in 308, Limbsaver recoil pad, Tally rings, a Lopould 3x9 rifleman scope for hunting and a bueller 5x16 for target shooting.
My worn out eyes get me a 5" group at 212 yrds with a saeco 315, 18.2 grn of enforcer powder gets me right at 1800 fps and about 8-9" of drop.

I'm going to increase the loads to get maybe up to 2200 fps to reduce the drop for my target shooting and possabley for deer and elk.

Like others have said it's smooth as silk

I have a T3 lightweight in 308. It's left-handed and stainless. It's a dream to carry and is probably my most accurate rifle. It is a slick little package.

Can't wait to shoot mine. I purchased with plans to punch it out to 358 W. I think now I will what it will do as a 308 first. This surgery is really messing with my casting/reloading/range time.
