Raining hard this a.m. Don't mind it, as we sure need it. Kids are back in school! Summer shot by quicker than normal it seems to me! Would really like to know where the last 35-40 years went!!!!!!!!

I was just wondering where the last 15yrs went. 35yrs ago I would have been a toddler.:D 40yrs ago I wasn't born yet.

No matter what direction we head, time marches forward. That's why I live, work, & play hard while I can.

This past Thursday I complete 44 years in my profession as Commercial Photographer (and with the same employer) ....So starts my 45th year! ( as the sole employee)
These past few weeks we have been cleaning up ( actual disposing of all the old negatives prints etc....I think a shut down will be coming within the next year...Boss is finally retiring)
Looking back at this old material makes me feel like it was just yesterday Most everything I see I can remember making those images even though it was 40 + years ago! Kind of sad!.

And Paul as for this summer ....Where did it go? I my area it has gone over to that Fall like feel in the air every morning ...No birds singing ( except for the blue jays) and It was a summer of wet weather every other day! Not one of our better Summers!

Time flies. That's right. I'm only 42. I'll be 43 on Aug. 25th. My first Grandson will be born in November. Crazy. Seems like just yesterday the kids moved out and I got to move my reloading gear in!
My wife, brother and me try to squeeze in as many camping, hiking, fishing, rock hounding trips in as possible. I know these things will get a bit harder to do as time goes on.

I've been at my same job and with the same woman for over half my life. I'm rather proud of that at my age. Tis a very true story that the older you get the time slips by faster and faster.
Carpe Diem!!!!

waco,
Try to squeeze as much in as you can while the squeezing good! Those are the times you will remember later in life!
I envy you with your long range shooting exploits but I live to hear your new reports! Something I have never done or ever will but...... It was a dream of mine!

Many years ago in the 60"s I read a national article about the "1000yd Buck Club" ! not far from me in Wellsboro PA!
Then in the 1990 I had the opportunity of photographing for his catalog the Rifles of Jim Borden! I found out : Jim Borden's Dad wrote that article in the 1960's that had got me on my start!
Things sometimes work out funny that way!
Please just keep posting your exploits while you can for us to enjoy!
Thanks
Jim

The long range thing is fun indeed. It has taught me a lot over the last few years. I will keep you posted on what we are doing.
I kinda take for granted where I live. Oregon has A LOT of wide open BLM land. I know some of you guys have a hard time finding a place to shoot 200-300 yards.
I'm on my way to playing around at trying to shoot 2MOA steel at 500 yards with cast in my .308.
Should be a good way to size up the performance of my loads.

waco,
Here in NEPA we have the State ranges with the rules: We also the coal mine striplings & I heard tell of 1000yds plus but it is riddled with ATV trails
Not a safe thing

Every time wife and I talk about this(time zippin on by).....we inevitably drift twds our marriage of,35? years.

We both start laughing because "it's been a looooong time" is our motto, looking at each other with a sneer. All in good fun though.

We got married on Friday the 13th.

We play tricks on the kids...doesn't work quite as well as it used to?One of us will say something and then the other repeats it like we're 90 y.o. They would,"ya'll didn't just do that"?

Got one of my Gbabies for next week....I'm the "bad Santa" babysitter. Can't believe they left her with me....get to run all the same jokes on the Gbabies, haha.

that's the best part, you get to refine them a little here and a little there until they become flawless.
then you get to pull it again when they get a little older.

I'll cut her a little slack on the shop jokes.

Wife can't cook pop tarts so uhhh,it's always been my *kitchen.Considering that the last generation of females further separated themselves from the hearth, teaching Gbabies classic chef'ery will be a pleasure. Here's one....only cause I just made another, ask your wives if they know how to "soak a cake".Old bakery trick.

*I built it as magazine quality cabinetry 30+ years ago,so it's mine in ALL respects.Put stacked doors.Meaning high ceiling with a second row of doors over the std ones,"stacked"..one over the other.

I quit counting anniversaries after 50. The wife however
does not. She said the other day it was 57, so I guess
it is 57.
