If you called me cute I may have to worry LOL

As far as being soft, yeah, I meant to take pics of the damage. I hit a rib on the way in, I had a 2"x1.5" entrance hole under the fur (but a normal bullet hole in the skin). In her solo pic you can see where the core exited on the off side. The jacket went up the spine and was under the skin half way up the neck. You should have seen the dust fly off of his fur when the bullet impacted, looked like I popped a clay bird on him.

I plan on buying the 125 TMK or Hornady 110 gr spire point bullets for my 300 BLK as storage ammo, plenty accurate and they are both a proven expander.

Josh,
Congratulations....You should be proud for getting the deer and having Elli with you when you did! What a wonderful experience for both of you!

Many years ago when my son started hunting ...in his first year....small game He took a day off from school & I took a day off from work the week after opening day of small game in PA. We had a great day but not much game; half way through the day my son, Brandt asked me if We could switch guns......I aways carried my Dad Savage Stevens 311 SXS double 12 g and he carried his Grandpa's 16 g Single barrel Harrington Richards. After lunch we switched shotguns ... I took delight in watching him bring it up on a brace of grouse he kicked out, yes missing both, but fired each barrel! His stance looked good to me!
Later I walking with him, had my chance at a Male ring neck caring that single 16 g and dropped him ( First ringneck in 40 years for me ....yes I'm not a good shot gunner ....more of a rifleman)
Brandt was right next to me to witness the shot...the adrenalin ran high for both of us! Probably one of our closest moments together!
As the years have gone by since then, I know we have drifted apart. But nothing can remove the memories of that special day we had together as Father & Son

That's a nice sized WT. Where were you hunting?
We were hunting the panhandle of WV, he was an older deer, probably 3 or so. We were all pretty sure we seen him as a 4 pt last year as well, he just got a hair bigger all over. He has no signs of ever forking again, no bumps for brow tines, and the main beams were too thin past the fork to split again.

The owner of the farm prefers only 6 pt's and larger get taken, but makes an exception for management bucks, like spikes with 1 horn longer than 8" and 4 pt's that are wider/taller than the ears. (Mine was both) You should see some of the bucks that get taken out of that area, it is my guess that a state record will come off that farm within 5 years.
