Ultra Cheap Targets

I use an 8X8 steel plate suspended from a rebar frame by chains, aim for center of plate. When done I hit the plate with a can of spray paint, toss it in the back of the pickup and it is ready to go next time. The reason I use an 8x8 plate is that I'm 81, when I was younger I used a 6x6 plate. I'm not just trying to hit the plate but see where my group lands on the plate.

I use spray paint and scrap cardboard. Sometimes I use tape diagonally with spray paint like this and sometimes just a dot. I also use an old paint can for a template.

not to be a smart ass, but... I often take a paper target, turn it 'over,' (blank page) and put a 1" black square on it. Then shoot my cast target loads at 10 yds at the indoor range. If I shoot 10 or more rnds at the target, the RSO's like to joke that I like to 'shoot air!' as I tend to have one big cluster/clover leaf/not a lot of new hole cuts after 10-12 rds

Same here. I got a skid shoe off a highway plow. It's 6-8" across and the thick part is a good 1 1/2" thick, the thin part 3/4" or so. Welded a could chains to it and built a tripod out of old galvanized water pipe. Sprayed the disc yellow and it's been doing good work for 15-18 years now. I guess that another benefit of having your own range! I never have to pack it up!

RR slip plates are surprisingly durable.

They have 4 hanger holes that will hang square or diamond and can be placed in a rail for knock downs . For light work they can even be set up in rockers .
