My Brittany is down for at least one month with an ACL injury. I got time to burn...

Well, she would much rather be charging through cover than staying home, but beef rib therapy does wonders for her teeth. Vet checked her ears and her pads / bases of her nails, and said whatver she's been eating the last three months is good for her... Lightly boiled chicken with some form of a fat. Snausages, lil smoky links, salami, whatever. The fat is mostly trimmed from the chicken, so you got to add some fat to keep everything working.

ACL is injured, but with mobility restrictions, we can keep from the surgery... Either no field work / running for two months, or surgery, and the cast comes off in two months... Besides, I can lay off my left knee. Twisted it but good the last week of September looking for Woodcock.

The flight did not come down at all. Hardly any Doves...

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I joined the American Reloaders Association just before it's' demise. Got a jacket patch and a membership card stowed away someplace. Never got a newsletter or anything else. Same thing happened with another shooting organization too, can't recall the name, and several mechanical/machining/gunsmithing newsletters. Always wondered if I had the "kiss of death" about me or something. Plus, I'm still waiting for the "GIANT 1,000 COUNT TOY ARMY" package to arrive. Sent my 49 cents (plus shipping0 off in 1969 or 70 and still haven't seen hide nor hair of them.....

I joined the ARA when it started and still have most of the bulletins around somewhere. They'll probably go into the trash when I pass on, unless someone is interested in getting them from me now. Really enjoyed those and hated to see ARA die.
My condolences for the Brittany and hope for a good recovery.

I always thought that round would have taken off better, or at least seen a little support from a gun maker.
it would be pretty damn effective in a lever gun with a 170gr cast bullet.

You might want to donate them to a place that can digitize them, like they did with the CBA magazine.

Thanks to the power of Capitalism, the ability to scan is widely spread... What is nice about the ARABs is they are printed on 8.5x11 loose sheets. Easy to scan.

I could run off a list of lever gun calibers that should be built.
it'd be pretty long.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Somebody needs to build a lever gun in 357 Maximum.
I looked into it at one time. A Winchester 94 in 357 mag seemed to be the prime candidate for conversion. The action length & bolt travel would be a bit on the long side, but that's better than trying to "stretch" a shorter action to work. Gunsmiths have been modifying 1894s for longer bullet noses forever. You almost just need a longer chamber, and a little more length at the shell lifter. A 30/30 lifter may work, or I believe the original 357 mag lifter can be machined.

A friend of mine has a Blackhawk in 30 Paxton that he's quite attached to. I hadn't considered it or the 30 Badger in a lever-action, but it does make a lot of sense. It would be a great replacement for almost all 22 rimfire, and could be stretched to handle medium game as well. Either would be super cheap to load for.

the 38 casull on the 92 would be pretty simple if you started with the 454 version and a new barrel.
it would mimic the 357 max pretty well..

Wow, you have been working on that a day or two!

Buddy had about a half dozen of the B&D years back. He tried to get me involved. They were fairly impressive. He must have had close to a half dozen different dies sets from various makers. He ad several revolvers so chambered along with several TC barrels. The reason behind so many dies was some would work for one chambering and not the other. Shoulder angles were all over the place too.
Not really odd considering it being a wildcat.

I recall the TC barrels being the worst of the lot. One full custom and one rechamber by the same outfit, yet their fired brass was as different as night and day.
Once figured out what they needed for sizing they all shot pretty good, except one SW revolver being a problem child.

I am a somewhat new 357 maximum fan. Though I don't see it out doing my 83 FA any time soon.
