Old ladies brother had to exercise the old helo today. Went for a ride for about an hour east of Tulsa. This radial powered helo is strange. Clutched gear box instead of direct drive.

The shape of the helicopter reminds me of the type my father said he flew in while serving in the US Army in the late 1950's.

This one was shot down in Vietnam then recovered and sent back to the USA. It has like 120 bullet holes that were patched. He has a class 3 m60 for the door gun. There is a video somewhere of them at a machine gun shoot shooting out the door with it.

So you are the waist gunner? Many of those are still used to set A/C units and equip where a crane won't work.

Served on LHP's so got to see some of these transporting guns and material in country from the ship. Returning usually had wounded or worse.
