Does anyone know what alloy H&G specified for their moulds? Did they specify various alloys or a single? I'm working on cataloging a 503 bullet. I appreciate any help to get factually correct information.
While at H&Gs estate sale, I saw 3 different alloys.
Lyman #2, WW, and linotype.
They often stated the weight with each alloy.
This may not be much help, but I tried.
This 1968 article says, "before shipment to the customer, each mold is tested by casting a run of bullets from a standard bullet metal and weighing the bullets."
