I want to say it's the Lyman 359 also [it looks just like the one I have in my Lyman picture guide]

no crimp groove would tend to make one think about a black powder design, but the pointy nose would have to be for a single shot or a magazine fed gun.
32-40,32 miller, 32-20 would all be possible uses, or if it's intended for a 30 cal it could be from an old arsenal H&G design for reduced distance armory practice.
the cutting doesn't bear that out though since you can usually see the cherry 'swirl' marks in the nose.
so I'm thinking Ideal or a more modern aluminum mold.

Here's looking into a block halve.......

The opposite side of this block halve has the answer!

Let me know if you are ready to see the 'other side'......

AND WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!

Good job Brad! I knew your diligence would get you there!!!!

Got this ol' gal used for a good price.... She had a rough life but she's almost back in shape. Got a little alignment pin work still to do.... But it casts pretty good and accurate bullets now. (With no flat sides!)

RCBS still uses this block configuration....I wish they kept a 3 cavity option. RCBS has improved the sprue plate and attachment bolt. RCBS cheapened the attachment screws (and pins) for the handles. Lachmiller uses nice one piece ones! Had to modify a set of Lee handles to fit the narrow mounting grooves...

A google search took me to an old post by Glen On another forum where he mentioned that mould number. Looked about right and those are obviously a Lachmiller type block.

Well, if you find her kind of tired at times it's because I wore her out at work finding obscure parts. Try finding a Parker RCP-400S-H manual pilot control for sale some time...yeah, Parker could make one in two months for $1400, or I could snipe one off fleabay for $27.99 and free freight. Amazon is also one of my favorite slaves :p

Good job on figuring that one out, Brad.

Amazing how a change in search terms leads to different results. Sometimes it is the order of words.

you coulda just swung past an old mountain mover out in the texas desert and snagged 2-3 Parker valves.
