Pictures of your early hunts

Below is a picture of my first pheasant taken in November, 1962. These were a rare bird in Ohio at the time and mostly planted. This was the period of "clean farming" and little habitat was left for game. While there were lots of quail and rabbits, this was exotic game at the time.

Unfortunately, the oldest photo of me hunting was taken about 5 years ago, of a pig I killed with my .458 Socom. There just never seemed to be a camera around all the years before. Neat to see the old photos though.

the only picture I ever remember being taken on a hunt was the year my dad and uncle got their deer right at daylight opening morning and it made the newspaper since the news guy just happened to be driving by as we were dragging them out.
kind of an odd circumstance since I can only remember them ever only getting one other deer each.

Guys, if you haven’t ever looked then you need to take a look at some of the rifles Jim has built. Amazing workmanship.

Sadly,
After all the custom guns I have built I only harvested deer with 2 of them which I kept as my personal Flintlocks I do have one other that I have used for reenacting and one Northampton style that just graces my wall!...All the others were for customers

I seem to remember a file with lots of fine photos of even finer rifles hand-made by a Mr. JWF....is that here on the board somewhere?

Thanks Guys for the nice words
.....Just wish I could get back to my workbench again with the gusto I used to have for the 17th & 18th Century Firelocks!

But some how there were a bunch of guys I met on the internet that got me interested in shooting cast bullets in my modern rifles!
They thought me "virtual smelting and casting"! that was all I needed ( with many questions of course) I learned how to do this cast bullet thing.....and now I'm still hanging out with those Dudes & getting old! Yes you know who you are ;) !
Probably some of the best friends I have ever found!
