Finally got tired of not being able to get a good crimp on my 45 Colt ammo. The RCBS seater would do fine if the Dillon allowed it to be screwed down far enough. The Lee collet crimp has the same problem.

Went to the garage and grabbed a Lee type bullet sizer I had overshot on size. Bored it large enough for a slip fit of 45 Colt bullet. Set a carriage stop and bored for body of case to leave a crimp shoulder.
Boom, works perfectly in the Dillon. No more crimp issues.

I don't know how I end up talking myself into doing yard work instead of doing something fun on days like this.
low 40's,, sorta sunny, not too windy.
oh well I got the box with the don't give no blueberry bushes all bricked in and wood chipped so it looks nice and might only have 5-600 weeds in it this year.
I chipped some ice out of the south side of the garden, and stuck some bare root asparagus starts in, so I guess we will see what happens there.

Our county hasn't reached the necessity stage, yet, but while walking the dog this evening we decided to wear this season's fashion statement anyway.

Happy birthday Mitty.
I spent the morning gathering wood and cutting it to size for our dogs casket. He isn't gone yet but it will not be long. Wife wants to cremate it and berry it on our property.
The afternoon was spent rendering assorted lots of lead ingots to make large batches of uniform alloys. All of my batches were around 250 to 300 lbs per batch. I made 1 batch of Range Lead and 3 batches of straight COWW. All i have left will be 1 batch COWW. 2 batches of 50CO/50SO , 2 batches of SOWW.

Fiver--

Actually--it is almost illegal to NOT walk around like that. Both of the head health wonks in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties have ORDERED people to stay in their houses and to only emerge for life necessities. Any entry into businesses REQUIRE that a mask be worn at all times. They added that law enforcement was empowered to enforce these orders via citations, fines, and arrests.

Riverside County's Sheriff Chad Bianco did a press release concerning this bit, basically saying there would be no roadblocks or stops made or cites issued for failure to wear masks, and not to call 9-1-1 to report such things. Same Sheriff specifically stated last week that gun shops WERE ESSENTIAL SUPPLIERS and WOULD REMAIN OPEN in his County. Chad Bianco was the last Sergeant I worked for at RSD, and he was a no-nonsense straight-shooter with me throughout the time I worked for him. He saw 2 of his deputies die from on-duty COVID-19 exposures during the past week. Still, he did not over-react.

I'm not about to buy surgical masks, even if they are available, when I've plenty of the above.

It was announced, today, that the county cops will start issuing citations for people who are not sheltering in place, though I don't know all the specifics. I have to re-fill the grill's propane tank, tomorrow, so I'll be testing the program.

Allen was quicker on the draw.

This mask thing and being under constant house arrest is getting more strict and weirder.

Dueling Heads Of Health Departments--"HERE, HOLD MY BEER!"

People are starting to get torqued off. This is the kind of thing you get when insect authority gets granted extraordinary powers. Giving such power to some people is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. (Stolen from P.J. O'Rourke)

Just read that John Prine died from complications of the Chinese Flu. I started listening to his music about 1975.
Read in peace . . .

Ah, yes, P. J. O'Rourke.

My wife and I worked the polls yesterday. Sue as Chief Inspector and I served as a door control technician and rule explainer. I was outside and did not wear a mask. I cannot understand the necessity of wearing a mask outdoors and beyond the recommended social distancing criteria. China hasn't started misting this stuff from airplanes yet have they?

The mask is not to protect you from others, it is to protect others from you!

The concern is that many people have the virus but remain asymptomatic. By wearing a mask those people reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to others.

This is an area where education has been poor. My fear is that people will wear masks and gloves and gain a false sense of security. They may actually increase their risk overall.

Cant stress enough that the single greatest thing we can do to reduce risk of infection is keeping our hands washed. Mine are dry and chapped as hell right now.

I understand that, but when we are outside, maintaining our space, I don't get the mask thing. Of course this aint Hong Kong or New York City. We have fewer people in our entire county than we had in 1911. We also have 3 confirmed cases in the county.

My wife and I did some grocery shopping at the local Winco at the seniors only hours yesterday morning.
It was busier than on a regular day. We won`t be shopping those hours again.
Probably half of the people were wearing masks.
I hear that here in Oregon we have less than .5 infections per 1000 people.
The lowest on the west coast.
