from a saeco 38 wad-cutter mold to 45 auto Revolvers in about 5 posts.

You almost seemed surprised!
My 25-5 came in a deal with 250 AR cases and some half moon clips. I shot the AR cases more than anything else. It just didn't interest me much at the time. I had a 586 I was trying to blow up (not really) with 20.0 grs of 296 and a case of Winchester over run 125 gr Hp's. There were 3360 per case of those 125's and I did my share of case splitting back then. Shot that out in the yard one evening and the muzzle flash was rather impressive. LOL The wife wasn't too impressed. Seems she was about half asleep on the couch!!

What surprises me is a 25-5 coming with AR cases and moon clips. The 25-5 is a .45 Colt and uses neither.

Your correct Don. I just did a little research and mine must have been an early mod 25 and looks like the hand ejector model. It used either .45 AR or half moon clips with .45 ACP. Fixed sight, no barrel shroud. I didn't care much for the clips and used the AR cases mostly. I bought it from Brocks Gun Shop in Coppers Cove Texas, @ 1982, when I was stationed at Ft. Hood, Tx. Still can't remember what I did with it though.

my buddy has one with a 6" barrel.
I showed him how to tumble lube just for that gun and then he went on to powder coat.
25-5 might not be the right, it might have just been a 25.

Probably was a 25-2. I just got one made in 1975, and have yet to shoot it. While I've got a s-load of .45 ACP brass and bought some moon clips, I also bought 100 Starline .45 AR brass to see how they work.

Oops, just saw that your gun had fixed sights and no barrel shroud, so that eliminates the 25-2 model.

Well Don, I'm not sure what I had. I can't find a picture, of any model 25 older than a 25-2. Looking around the closest model that looks like what I had is the model 1950. It didn't have a lanyard ring on it, but it came with an after factory, flat matte black finish (like RVA) and Pachmayr presentation grips. The more I inquire the more confused I get! I've only had three guns that I just don't recall what I did with, or who I traded to. A bull barrel S&W mod 10, a Winchester 94 AE, and this pistol, whatever the model was. I keep telling myself that isn't too bad considering the trading I've done, but some days..............

Not to worry in about 3 days while you're checking the oil with the gas pump running thinking about running a squeegee over the back window , bam , Bob Jones for the closet Queen Mauser 9×57 on February 29 , 1992 . You met him a Mary's cup and plate over on 58 just south of Bufford , the biscuits had too much baking powder in them but the country gravy was amazing .

Your description is almost scary ,but accurate!! Spent the better part of the day with a good friend. He’s two years my senior. He managed to drop the right half of his pickup through the ice on an ice road while leaving the lake. We brought my truck out full of tools trees and high lifts. Trucks were about 50’ aprt when i sent him to get some more blocking. He got to the truck and yelled back, what did I come to get? Lol
