airc it was something like 1 million rounds per kill.
i can easily see that on full auto especially when fired overhead or from a prone position.
even with the little 223 round the AR's are really bad about killing telephone poles and palm trees from bottom to top.

The guy I know got slapped on the hand and had to give up his ffl. He also got caught with a sawed off double barrel shotgun. 3 AR15 SBR's. And 2 Stens full auto. He ended up with work release jail for 3 months. But since he had a tree cutting business he was on call the whole time and only spent about a week total in the jail at night when he slept. Then woke up and left in the AM. He had so many guns that they had to get one of the big uhaul trucks to carry all of them. Forgot about the Browning 50cal. It had a messed up side plate that if you pushed too hard on the butterflys it would go FA. Hence the reason he was raised. They had video of it happening. But since he kept using it without fixing it, they went after him.

Ive talked to several members of the alphabet agency. As long as you are not dealing drugs or selling that stuff they go very easy on you. If drugs or you were selling it then you might get jail time.

Federal prisons are full. They have little interest in going after old men, except the IRS.

I’ve never understood the fascination with full-auto other than the possible factor of it is, “forbidden fruit, therefore it must be fun”. I’ve shot plenty of full auto weapons and frankly, I don’t find it exciting. Other than the increase hit potential in some limited situations, (and only then with training and discipline) it’s not that great.

I totally agree that all of these efforts to circumvent the definition of a machine gun do tremendous harm to our cause as responsible gun owners. There is no upside to those juvenile efforts.

My uncle allowed me to fire the M-14 on full auto. I was not impressed and found it quite impossible to put rounds where you wanted them. Everyplace you didn't want them yes but not where they needed to go.

Your uncle also provided the ammo at no charge to you. Pretty sure he treated ammo like he had an unlimited supply.

We called it "good area coverage" in Armor.

Yeah but only if "the area" is straight up. Was no way to keep the muzzle down. empty that 20 round magazine in a heartbeat.

I learned right quick with the M1A not to "benchrest" the trigger because it will bump fire off the shoulder two or three times. Two is okay, but three not so much because the forearm is about six inches in the air above the rest by then. Take up the slack and then pull and hold that sucker to the back until the recoil is over!
