Would you go 165 or 180 gr?
That 165 will go 150 with hp pin,,sounds like fun...

All of my 40 S&W loading has been done with 175-180 grain bullets, cast or jacketed. All of my 10mm loading has been done with 175-200 grain bullets.

I carry a 40 S&W with 180 JHP's and feed it Lee 175's cast for practice. They work and I am reluctant to mess with it when its not broken.

My Ruger 1911 10mm is as accurate as any .45 ACP I’ve ever fired, just recoils more. My only experience with .40 S&W has been in a Glock pistol and accuracy (or my shooting) was so so. I think the 1911 pattern pistol is easier to shoot for me than other styles. There is no reason that a .40 can’t be as intrinsically accurate as any other cartridge. I too trend to favor 175-180 grain bullets in 10mm.

I like 180s as a general weight in the 10 mm. The 165s might be a good choice for a lighter faster hollow point bullet.

I have a 160 MP HP as well as a NOE 170hp. I like them but prefer heavier.

In my 40's I like 165 as a heavy a d 155 as a "carry" weight.

135's in both can be fun but violent expansion can inhibit penetration.

I have a SIG MAX 1911 in .40 S&W and it shoots extremely well. When I first got it I tested it in my Ranson rest and found it shot everything great. I use it for single stack competition, so I load the ammo long like I do for my double stack 2011's in .40. I came with a 10mm magazine and that is what I use for it. I have shot factory .40 in it and they feed and function fine.

I also have a MAX in .45 ACP and it also shoots extremely well so I expect any SIG 1911 to be built and shoot the same.

Is there any reason, the sig couldnt be rebarreled to 10 mm?

My 2 cents worth is, I shoot the MP 180 gr. shallow HP in the 10 MM (mine comes out to 188 gr. and the MP 165 gr. HP in my 40 S&W.
Accuracy is superb!

My most accurate 40 S&W is my CZ-75B. It is head & shoulders above the Glocks and SIG-Sauers in terms of accuracy, and the principal difference between the CZ and most other pistol makes is rifling twist rate. The CZ uses 1-16", most other makes use 1-10" or 4 turns/meter (1 in 9-3/4"). Those higher twist rates are stupid-fast for the bullet lengths being used, I have no idea why 9mm/10mm/40 S&W receive such insanely-fast twist rates.

One other attribute about 40 S&W and 10mm pistols I REALLY like--they seem to be very dimensionally correct, ALWAYS between .400" and .401" in throats and grooves. I size my castings to .401", and things shoot wonderfully.

Your gonna like the mold. Its got a adequate meplat and feeds flawlessly. I have passed 1400 fps in my 6" KKM. My load today is 1350+ fps. And it shoots very well.
