I'm sure it has been beat to death before but could not find any info on it here
and as I am permanently banned from the other site didn't look
Does anyone know exactly what it is?
Would it be of any use on 223?

I have not done it, but I've read of people using Ben's Liquid Lube on .22 LR.
Mixed results , it seems .

I would imagine but don't really know that each mfg. has their own proprietary recipe of whatever goop they use.

I always thought that my BLL looked and felt similar to the lube that was on a lot of .22 LR.

That is a VERY unscientific observation , by the way.

Feel is actually a very fine determinant of bullet lubricants. BLL would be my first choice fir re-lubing .22s if I were to try it.

Years ago, I actually quit buy the Remington bulk packed (milk carton type) bullets because they had way too much lube on them. Just too messy. IMO. Will only purchase in bricks now.

Many have been permanently banned, I questioned one of the founders and had 25 people screaming at me in a couple of hours. Banned for life. Truth is not acceptable, only who you are or you are canceled, before it was popular.

here's a little trivia for you.
I was actually working on a solid wax 22lr replacement type lube when JD come to me with the idea for 45/45 lube.
anyway the cook down of the JPW I was using with the bees wax mix was what he hadn't figured out yet.

cook the solvents out of the jpw, mix it 3 parts to one of beeswax by liquid volume.
it makes a solid you have to melt down each time you want to use it.

I was just thinking about trying a mix of carnuba red and bees wax the other day as a hot wax coating for some jacketed bullets.

I tried alox a while back on some powdery white bullets I cleaned.

It was not great. Wax woulda been better.

Ill try that next.

During the big 22LR shortage of 2014, I dug out some 20 yr old Federal Lightning. Their wet feeling lube was dry. I'd get one or two FTF in every 10 rd clip of my Ruger Mk II. While at the range, and in a pinch, I had some WD40 in the jeep and gave the 22LR a spritz while they were in a clean shop rag, and then rolled them in the rag to move the WD around moisten the existing dry lube. While that worked, and was accurate enough for my off hand plinking, but I had evidently used too much WD and I noticed a overly amount of lube buildup on the gun.

Later on, I tried JPW...just rubbed the noses in a fresh tub. That worked better, but did not get desired accuracy. Luckily, prices remained stupid high, and I sold that 20 yr old stash of Fed ammo...I think I had 25 or so bricks that sold at my 2015 auction.

Brett,
I had a disagreement with one of the chosen few.
After a couple of back and forths with an admin I was banned.
Then started to get some rather disturbing E mails so contacted
Gunload Master and he removed all info on me from the site.
Have never looked back and do not miss it.
Go there ever so often just to see if the person is still there.
Even more condescending than before.

I was banned from Bushcraft USA for posting my own material because it was copyrighted. The site owners wouldn't believe it was my own material until dozens of their readers who knew me told them who I was. They then sheepishly invited me back and I politely told them to pack sand and that they no longer had permission to use my copyrighted materials, which had been offered to them free and in good faith to benefit their community.

You will note that said person is not a member here nor has he tried to become one. He has been steadily worming his way into the CBA for a few years but so far has been kept on a very short leash outside of desperation for TFS article material. He will always play second-fiddle to Joe Brennan, which must really burn his butt.
