30-06 Trial run Reload (Ben's Bullet)

Well, my FCD arrived about an hour ago and I have now loaded a "dummy" round to see if it'll chamber in my Tikka T3. Happy to say that while it's a firm bolt
closure, it should run just fine. OAL 3.252

That looks very promising, Gary! Keep ut posted on your results!
Excellent idea, by the way- to have Ben cast bullets for you :D

Gary,

Interesting that you would post this today.
My friend Bryan wanted to shoot some this morning.
I took my Tikka 30-06 with the Accurate 212 H Plain base.
The photo of the mould below shows the micro band
bullet taking a g/c. However after owning the mould for about
a month, I made a decision to remove the g/c shank from
the micro band bullet. Turned out to be a great decision
for me.
Group fired at 50 yards. ( these cast bullets were
from the same lot that I sent you. )

Ben, just don't know how you get along with the double cavity molds. I just don't have the patience for them, or maybe the back for it. I finally got a 6 cavity Lee 452-200 swc to replace the double I bought a couple years ago. Cast 1100+ this morning, it would of taken me several days with the double and my back would of been stiff for a couple more.

You're right.
But it is like the old timers always said.
If you're casting out of a single cav. mould.
You know they will ALL be the same.

I got this one a few days ago to keep my
grandson in 30-30 bullets for the reasons
that you describe.
