30-30 Brass

I recently was gifted 10 pieces of 30-30 brass and had a hour to mess around in the shop today and I decided to prep the brass to load up tomorrow. First off I decapped the brass and cleaned/uniformed the primer pockets; next I annealed the brass. Next, I full length sized. Took them over to the Lathe and trimmed using a Lee 30-30 trimmer. Not real happy with Lee's trimmer but I went slowly and mic'd repeatedly until I got to 2.029~2.030. Then, still using the Lathe I used my Lyman deburring tool to smooth out the rims.
They're ready for LRP, Powder and cast/PC'd bullet.

Nice!
There is something about the 30-30 that just seems....right. I had a nice Marlin 20 years ago, sold it (before my casting days). Henry is making some fine looking rifles, might have to make room in the cabinet for one of those.
Happy shooting!

I went shooting Saturday with my 14" Contender in 30-30.
Lyman 311291 and 10 gr Unique are a pleasure to shoot and very accurate.
