310 tang tool help

Glaciers

I have a 310 tang tool and 30-06, 243 dies. The tang tool comes in a box marked tool and dies. The dies are not in the box. The tool and the two sets of dies are new never used. The dies are still wrapped in wax paper. Don't need them, don't know much about them. Looking to put a value on them and sell or trade. The boxes are in great shape, the price tag on the tool is $5, suggest they been around a while. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the 310 tool is discontinued and the only dies left are 45 Colt and 38/55. So if somebody wanted them I would guess about $75 for the set. If you go to eBay you might get $100. FWIW

I was going to offer $10 for the whole outfit buy Ricin Yakima blurted out the correct values.

You could also check here for prices.

Boy Kevin, $10. I'll keep that in mind.
Hey thanks for the link, lots there. I guess I always ignored these set ups.

I might have offered more but I shoot neither of those cartridges.

I use a 310 to load my 22 WCF, 22 Hornet, and 405 WCF. The only rifle cartridge I load on a press is the 50 Govt. The 310 for that costs too much!

I have used my 310 dies in a RC press. It's done with the adaptor that comes with #55 powder measure. I was given a cigar box full of old 310 dies and four or five large and small handles. There is a 22 HiPower set and most of the common Winchester calibers. Meaning 32-20 WCF and similar. If sold it would start a hunt for replacement dies two weeks later. The last cartridge I seriously used the 310 for was 25-20 Repeater.

I used my set this week to load some 32 S&W for my 1849 Colt conversion cylinder. They still work just fine.

Funny you should mention the 32 S&W. I went to the 310 Shop website that Kevin posted and was looking for 32 S&W and was thinking of see if I could work a trade. Of course that one caliber is out of stock.

I was looking at the boxes and the price tag on the dies is $11.50 and the box the tool and dies came in, is marked $5.00. So I can only guess that the tool set was robbed of the dies, then sold as a bear tool for the five bucks.
Good to know about the 32 ACP. It might be easier to load the smaller cartridges on a hand tool the on the bench press. I do have the Lyman adaptor Mowgli mentioned, but I'll send an email to the 310 tool shop and talk to them.

I went down to refresh my memory in the Skunk Works. What I have is boxed sets. Also, boxed dies sets were sold individually. Older 310 dies were identified by number not caliber. Fun looking all that stuff up. I had ordered a barrel sizer from the 310 shop years ago. It was to complete an older 257 Roberts set with nickle plated handles. The first set I picked in my reloading room was for 32S&W Special. I need to do an inventory. On another forum I shared an demonstrated that you could load 45-90 on 45-70 Lyman 310 dies.
