I was shootin my.358 Win just last weekend, confirmed zero and its ready for this season shooting 225 SGK @ 2430 ish using TAC powder. Its a MOA shooter for me.

Using 4895 and a NOE 360-232 is my lead load shooting about 1800 and just over 1" @ 100.

Good luck with yours!

If I remember correctly you have Quickload. In my experience, the program has been quite accurate for predicting velocity (and, we can assume, pressure) with the Reloder series of powders and the .308 and .35 Remington with cast bullets and is invaluable for stitching together a more complete picture from fragments of published data.

Ian,

I do have Quickload and together with all of the info I could find online & in manuals I have been to gather I should be able to create loads that will work yet be safe.

I'm headed to the indoor range this afternoon with the rifle together with initial loads using 200gn Hornady Interlocks. Rifle functioning and initial chronograph numbers is the aim of this outing. I have already cast about 100 of the Lee 200gn bullets and coated them and should work on them this weekend.

In the eager rush last night I mounted the Leopold 3~9x50 Scope and only after I took the pic I noticed that that the elevation and windage knobs were rotated by 90*. This has been fixed but oh the shame! :headbang:

Here is the completed build with the Wilson Hunter Elite 18" barrel.

Very nice. I predict you will like the Lee 200 when you get to the point of trying them out. They may not even require nose-sizing for function in your rifle.

The Lee 200gn bullets were coated and sized to .3585”. I made up a number of loads using RL7 and these initial tests went surprisingly well.

The only issue I need to resolve is to get the rifle to cycle reliably. Even with full house loads of H4895 and IMR3031 under the 200gn Interlocks it short strokes. With the twin rifle in 308Win I had the same problem and after much experimentation I ended up opening the gas port and it now runs like a Deere. The potato class pic shows both rifles.

I have had my 358win build out to the range a number of times and things are progressing well. I’ll post a more detailed report when I have a little more time.

FWIW Wilson Combat has the barrels on sale, 35% off. I just ordered another 18” and it is $229 to my door.
