358 YETI

There used to be several threads on the 6.8 forums for the Yeti I don't know if they stayed or not . There was some significant difference of opinion between new owners and old sponcers concerning product pushing via forum posting vs paid ads in spite of significant donations and generated traffic .

Last I looked there was a website dedicated. But do not remember the names. But they had a couple calibers.

It was attractive to me but just because Im a 35 nut. For me this was just before the 350 legend was released. I went that route. Never dis find a CVA 35 Rem single shot. Still would like one.

Did the extractor tear a chip out of the rim?
Other than being "dirty" from being suppressed, I didn't see anything obvious at the time. I was able to recover most of the cases, so once I clean them up I will look for additional/potential signs of high pressure.

Probably just a failure to extract due to marginal gas where you had it set.

But, unless that bolt and barrel extention are made out of pixie dust sintered in Superman's fist, it's insane to run .308 pressures and that's what it takes to get the advertised velocity.

Definitely a topic that was discussed in the 358YETI thread. The developer used pressure gauges and got objective data and lots of field data, but I admit have no idea what the bolt is made from. Based on the folks using it, the fact that folks are still buying these kits, and those actually posting results on actual hunting scenarios, the "magic" bolt is holding up. But maybe barely

I am not after a max load, and I have to continue adjusting the gas port, check accuracy at longer distances, etc.. Since I am aware of these "high pressures", I plan on continuing "slow" with reloads for this AR15 rifle.

Yeah - I hear you. It is a heavy, rubber-like block!

(and most of the brass I saw was 223 ...)

and talking about brass on the floor ...

this was on the pistol range - trying some 180gr 357Mag handloads on my 4" revolver:

The chrono readout was for a load using Unique powder. No "abused" blocks on the pistol ranges ...

OK, here are a couple of pictures of the brass from that range outing. Top 5 (cleaned by hand with a rag), which were the "hotter" load of the 3x I tried - although I don't know which one was the one that was "stuck". Bottom 4x "as is" (extra dirty due to the suppressor) - this was the mid-level load:
