Bret :

I certainly wish I had my 1955 Target model back that I shot when I was in my late 20's. You do stupid things when you're young , like sell your 1955 target gun for what you " thought " was a nice profit.

Not so smart............Not so smart !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 1st " ManStoppers " have been loaded with cast bullets from my new MP Mould.

45 Auto Rims
4.0 Red Dot.
235 gr. cast bullet.

After loading the above rounds, I went back and put a mild crimp on the ends of the cast mouths. The rounds fall in and out easily in my Smith revolver.

I had two, a 1950 and a 1955, but don't miss them. The reason? My hands are short and wide, as are my fingers, so I could never reach the trigger for double action. I could only shoot it cocking it with my left (off) hand. Then I bought a new 1989 N frame with the round butt. That has been my favorite .45 ever since.

Those bullets look great, curious to see how they shoot. Been a .45AR fan since I got my 1988 mod 625 in 1988 and then picked up an 3" 1989 version when they came out. I later picked up a nice 1955 target but it seems to like jacketed bullets more so I shoot my cast in the 625's.

One word comes to mind if these are used against mammals, NASTY... I presume that at higher velocity the accuracy will drop off quite quickly but if used for personal protection at close range that won't matter.

I recall reading some reports about the Webley man stopper and they praised their effectiveness even thought the original 455 is quite anemic compared to later 45cal pistol rounds.

Very nice and unique mold and bullet.

These will test whether or not these " Manstoppers " will shoot well at 10 yards. For me, that will be about the max. distance I can see myself needing self defense rounds out of my 625 revolver.

I'm thinking these will clock around 800 fps.
