My cousin shot his 460 S&W Magnum at sunset.
200 gr. jacketed bullet with 45 grs. H-110.

One of those cartridges that is as bad on the shooter as the shootee. I got no room to talk though, I bought a FA in 454 as soon as they came out. I used to enjoy something in my hand that was a little past common sense, then I got older and wiser.

That flash coming from the cylinder gap should remind you to put no finger (or other body parts) forward of the trigger. In CCW class we place a paper towel over the cylinder and produce confetti to demonstrate that point.

I called it quits with the 480, anything more, Marlin 45-70. Not much heavier.

If your taste for adventure travel and sporting potential sends you in this direction--ENJOY. My tastes are a lot more pedestrian as time goes on--44 Magnum is about as much as I want to mess around with, thank you. Most of those run 900-1000 FPS these days, rather than the 1350 FPS that I thought was required in my younger days. Same story in the 45 Colt (Ruger)--1000 FPS imparted to a 250-260 grain casting is just fine. At some point, it is time to find a rifle.

I never ventured past the 44 Mag, don't feel like I missed anything, it did all I needed done the few times it was called upon. I don't like pain anyway. Now, my Bro, he likes the 500 and 460.

You each should have started with a caliber .69 flintlock then worked your way backwards. We still enjoy them also. They are big heavy and consume alot of lead (range scrap) but do give a satisfaction when those big ol' balls wamm into anything.
