I made 4 double batches of Bens Red. Scorched the first batch with too much heat so use it on slugs and buckshot. I don't foresee needing any lube in my lifetime. I did add some more beeswax than the recipe called for, to make it a bit harder. I've shot it to -17 and works for anything I'm doing. Thanks again Ben.

You are more than welcome.
My small contribution back to all of you.

Ben's Red has worked well for me in past years.
However , my cast bullet shooting in handgun and rifle is always with " moderate loads ". I'm not much for pushing the edge of the envelope.
A lot of different lubes would probably work just as well as my Ben's Red at those speeds.

NOPE...a lot of different lubes have a too narrow temp. range.
It’s Ben’s Red or BLL for me regardless of the speed of the load from mild to wild, or the temp. I’m shooting in.
I don’t have the time nor disposition to be doctoring my lube to shoot at one temp. or another, or switching lubes because of the time of year i’m shooting in.
It’s Ben’s Red or BLL year round for me.....either one and done!

Well I finely made a batch of BR. After listening to all the wining about burning the lube I was overly cautious. Melted and mixed everything very slowly on a low heat, and after that got liquified I added the Lucas. Worked perfectly. Thanks for making me careful..
Went to clean out my 450 with a heat gun and had the heating plate plug in to help out. Man won't do that again. What a mess. Laid the heat gun down pointing at the press and was stirring my can or BR to pour in and was not paying attention to what was going on at the other end of the bench. The 450 got to the perfect temperature to melt the lube and boy, it came out. I hope BR is as good as you guys say, because I'm not doing that again..
Anyway I'm hoping to try BR today. It looks good. Now if I can get some Lundmart floor wax ordered somewhere, I'll be set for BLL also.
Between PC, Hi-Tec, and Ben's lubes, I should be ready for any casting, shooting challenge.

I use NRA 50/50 exclusively .
I recently bought 6 commercial size sticks for $15 shipped.
That much will probably last me the rest of my life...dale

I've got enough of LBT Soft Blue to last the rest of my life.
Especially, since I PC everything now.
