This is the first time out with the NOE 266469 clone in a plainbase at a diameter of .270. These bullets are the first 20 I cast out of the mold just to fire it up. they were all wrinkled and crappy looking so I rolled them in alox and just took them out this morning verify they would stabilize with the 6 grains of Trail Boss.
These groups were shot at 50 yards from the kneeling position. I was in the process of adjusting the scope in shot to 5 shot groups and one 10 shot group. Scope is an old Lyman All-American 6x
It definitely shows promise and backs my my experience that sometimes wrinkled bullets are not all that bad if you're just looking for average accuracy.

I figure I'm already there with a decent plinking load. the only thing that baffles me is if I put one down in the magazine it feeds fine but it won't feed if I put more than one round down so maybe I'll play with bullet seating depth a little bit. 25 years ago when I had my Swede I bought for $69 it seemed to feed the 266469 just fine as I remember.

Yes I'm still using the same Trail Boss load trying to get a feel for the gun. I might switch the other powers later. For now I'm just looking for a springtime can skipper.
