I think he just done it to get both shocks on there.
rear ends don't care if the splines on the pinion go backwards for at least 2 half minutes.

All the ones around here the inner fender wells are ate through inside the engine compartment. Lots of the mud drag guys here like these. Usually had a 460 in them.

Well done making it authentic, waco.

I tell ya what, I have a deal for you. No need to replicate. We have a number of genuine articles when it comes to rusty buckets. Load up some cast, rifles, & gear. You can move into Brads' for a bit. When he's not working we can head to the range. When he is, I have enough real rust & other fixes to keep you busy.

On the short list would be getting the big block burban done. Need to tack weld & lead some lower quarters on, no bondo or plastic filler allowed. It'll be late summer or after by myself. One trailer needs some rust stoppage/prevention help. Mom's lesabre throwing knock sensor code. Radiator support fitting on the outback. Pickup needs a plow mount & heavy bumper fabricated. Having a real time tuning the 72bug carb. New steering cable & put outboard back on lund. Then a quick partial rocker replacement on the express 2500. That should keep you busy a minute...o_O

Had a ceiling fan loose a blade today. It wasn't even running, the blade just dropped off.

As a kid I did just about every Nascar model I could get. I was very proud of the Bill Elliot Coors car. Airbrushed it with auto paint. Being an adventurous kid, smashed them all together at some point.

O yeah..i have one set left for a 78 bronco. Dana 44 high pinion front & 9" rear with 3.50 in'em. There's a c6, a hood, 3 radiator supports, inner fender wells, grill shells, ect. Had 15 from 76-79, don't own any of those trucks anymore. Maybe I don't need the parts?:embarrassed:

Geezuz, Bruce. At least none of my projects involve rust. You got a handfull. I'd be like tape and float that mess with Bondo and trowel, air file it and spray some bedliner over the top, shazam. If you want stuff to last forever, move to AZ, NM, or the west half of TX.

waco, Those photos make it look like it is a model toy version of the beast! Seriously I thought it was a Revell 125th scale Model!
That was so cool! Not sure how you did that ?

Local hobby shop had contests when I was a kid but the were 125 scale or so. Not much detail in them so I added some with BP pen springs, frame from HO gauge, brass tube for axle, etc. Won a couple ribbons but in competition with a guy name Roth. Did some shirts with rods on the back (crayon & iron). Roth started with sweatshirts and markers. No, not Ed Roth, this guy looked more like skinny Buddy Holly.
Don't know how he did it but one model was an Indy midget with an absolutely smooth pearl white paint job. he said he used toothpaste to finish it but he must have used auto paint cause Testers doesn't come out that well.
Good job Waco, don't think my eyes are good enough to do that kinda stuff anymore. It is fun.

That Is a Cool Kit!
I still have a Revell unopened P-47 Flying Tiger Kit in my closet! My Wife bought it for me in 1977 ( year we got married)

been there done that float tape Jerry rig...last about 6 months before bubbling rusting & cracking out. Problem be they spray salt brine, liquid & rock all over the roads here...and we drive 100k+ per year.

We break that up over half a dozen vehicles to not kill them so rapid & have different styles for purpose specific stuff. When I weld in New metal & lead( we use linotype for the low melt point) it we usually get 5 years of rust free use, bumps to10 yr if we keep the chips /sand recoated every yr or 2.

It doesn't seem like waco is interested. O'well painting on fake rust sounds better than eating it or washing out of eyes I guess. We do have face shields, paprs, most other saftey gear a guy could want but it's not fun till your done.
