Trevor and I have been looking at Ruger 10-22 rifles.
As a 10 yr. old, he has been doing very well in school,
I decided that it was time to reward him.
This one is the 50 th Anniversary model.
He should enjoy this one for many years to come.

Hmm. The plain jane model, eh?

That is the prettiest 10-22 that I have ever seen. I have an ordinary walnut stocked version that I thought
was pretty nice.....but this one sure throws mine into the shade!

The basketweave pattern is wonderful. Did you restock this one? I am having a bit of trouble grasping
that this is a factory Ruger rifle, not one of Ben's Special Beauties.

I really like the basket weave and Manlicher stock.

It is a beautiful rifle. I am another enthusiast for European ovate cheekpieces, and the Mannlicher fore ends are......well, difficult to say NO to.

Believe it or not, this barrel " floats ".

CZ Mannlicher stocks do likewise. When I bought the 550 in 9.3 x 62 in 2002, I dawdled for about a month--weighing the Mannlicher/500mm barrel vs. Lux half-stock/600mm barrel question. I went for the latter, not knowing at the time about the CZ free-float/Mannlicher regimen. It has worked well for me. The several CZ rifles I have added since that purchase have all been half-stocks. I was VERY sorry to see the Mauser 98-system 550s go away, and the push-feed 557s take over. Following Winchester's 1964 example has EPIC FAIL written all over it. If it ain't broke--don't fix it.

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
Beautiful rifle. And you won't have to load for that one.

Nice rifle Ben, your spoiling your grandson. Never even met, either of my grandfathers.

I have a early 80's version of the stainless Ruger 10-22 with a laminated stock. Sans the cheek piece. Fortunately, since I'm left handed.

I have a couple of the extended 25 round magazines. Don't care for them. Length gets in the way. Only tested them for function, been sitting on the shelf, ever since.

It's a shooter, too. It's my coon getter. That extra black scope ring, holds a LED flashlight with a green lens, for night shooting.
