A bad day for me.

I've know my friend Steve for over 20 years.
I got an Email from his wife telling me to contact her
immediately , URGENT !
I knew something was bad wrong.
I called immediately and found out that Steve died of a heart attack yesterday.
Steve was 82 .
He was a true American hero.
Special forces in Vietnam.
He was a retired Delta Airline pilot.
One of the most kind and generous people that I've ever met.
Steve and I went to many gun shows. I did a lot of stock repair work for him during those 20 years. We ate with each other on many occasions. He always insisted on paying the tab.
My afternoon has been so " hollow ".

Sorry to hear that Ben. Life is too short on good friends.

This is very sad, Ben. He sounds like quite an accomplished man. The "empty chairs" around our tables become more frequent once we are past age 60.

I never have words for stuff like this.
I know many others don't either and even when they do,,,, they just ain't quite right enough to get in there and touch where it hurts.

I’m sorry for your loss of a friend. There are no words to fill the void left when they’re gone. Sounds like he was a true warrior in his early years.

My condolences to his family.
