A Morning find!

Weather here has not been great.... lots of rain cool temps and still waiting for a real Spring! Ground is saturated.
Every year in mid April on a piece of my property bordering the wood land I preform a search for the illusive Morel Mushroom!
30 years ago when we built here I transplanted some Mayapple plants to this section. They were found in the adjacent woodland and over the years they developed into a nice thick patch. I love watching the Mayapple plants come up in the early spring. along with this plus to our gardens I started noticing 5 years ago a few Morel mushrooms growing near the plantings...Last year I had a bumper crop! I harvested about 3 quarts of them in a few days near the end of April.
This year I had lost all hope ...the weather being very un-spring like, except for the rains! The May apple plants are beat to the ground from incessant rain and there has been no sign of mushrooms anywhere. This morning I looked in the area again and low and behold they had appeared!.... one month late almost to the day, ....but very welcome. I harvested a number of the larger ones and let the small ones grow some more for later in the week.
Tomorrows breakfast will be a fine mushroom omelette!

If I knew how to post a picture

Jon, assuming your picture is on your computer simply click on the button on the lower left under the dialog box "attach files". A window will open, in that window click on the folder where your picture is then double click on the picture you want to post. There it is, simple as that. Once your picture uploads you'll have the option of clicking on full image, not clicking on this will still post it but as a thumbnail picture.

I have been trying to post this here so you guy's can reference it for like a year.
this is from a test of the available shot on the market right now, it's handy for those guys adding or getting shot to cast with and think they are getting super hard alloy.

OMG, fiver manages to post a chart like that. The chart is nice but I can't believe the guy managed to post it.

Huge difference in shot. The magnum is definitely different from the chilled shot.

magnum has always been different than chilled.
I could do a 2-3 post dissertation on when and why to use the different types of shot, and shot sizes and the different amounts of antimony used in them.

yeah this has absolutely nothing to do with a delicious meal, but did y'all really expect anything different?

Yeah 'cuz it ain't "that" hard to talk with your mouth full.... or stuffing fish with crabmeat,or lots of other kitchen chores. One of my D.I.L's was brought up in a family where at the dinner table you must;shut up( be quiet) while someone is talking. Which is 180* opposite here at the estate. Our conversation; You have something to say?,say it.....no one heard you?,say it louder. If that physics equation or formula didn't make sense, change it into a hunting or fishing scenario..... and leave it to "pop's" (me) to either, find a nice way to cook/chef it or how to "sell it".

Oops, had to delete this response to Winelover( wrong thread).... was pre-desposed to running calcs on crab stuffed fish with a mushroom sauce and asked Winelover for a wine referral. Sorry, back to eating shrooms.
