As much as I and others have been critical of Lee in the past few years , I guess when they do get it RIGHT, the only thing to do is give them credit where credit is due.

I've had my 9 mm Mak , East German pistol out of late shooting it.
I thinned out some moulds about a yr. ago and sold my old Lyman Makarov mould, which by the way cast a bit small. Lee labels this mould to throw at .365". It throws nice and round at .3655 ".

I got lucky ! !

I still wish Lee would put this 10-24 set screw in place before they ship the mould.

The mould cast just as well as one of the " high dollar " moulds.

Ben,
Since Lee changed the sprue cutter screw to left-hand threads, I quit installing the set screw. Are you still experiencing the cutter screw backing out, or installing the set screw out of habit?

installing the set screw out of habit?

For me it is just a habit. I have been doing this to all Lee moulds for a very long time.

Once a small piece of copper is in the hole and the lock screw is tight against the sprue plate hold down screw, I have zero problems with the hold down screw " free - wheeling ".

Ben,
What weight does your alloy drop that bullet at?
Yes that may be just a nice practice bullet for my wife's 38 S&W
It is fat enough for me to size down to.362"
Looks like the nose is flatter then your original Lyman

that is a rather bulbous nose shape for a semi-auto bullet.

you should be able to get 363 no problem through the sizer and a cleaned up flat most all the way up from a drive band width above the lube groove too.

The LH shoulder bolt is even worse than the old screws....once you crack it loose. The sprue plates are too tight and need deburring most of the time, and the bolt just won't stay tight after R&R, so I just bought a little sack of set bolts and make installing them part of the new mould prep procedure.

I have an older version of this mold, drops at .366 and 103gr with COWW with 1% Sn added.
I load it without sizing, tumble lube with 45-45-10
