A rare find

Always thought a 358W would be the ideal, ONE cast-bullet, center-fire, do it all rifle.

Deer, moose, elk, bear, woodchuck, coyote, squirrel, rabbit...

Got to a point where I had to admit I'd never use it and let go of that daydream. Had a lot of cool stuff, but never made it all the way to that one. One of the cool things about our distraction - there's always something else to try. I'm still not bored, even with just a few mundane, low-powered arms.

Pretty kewl!!

I have seen 410 loaders go for stupid $$ in last few years. Why I don't know... they can be handy for a SHTF scenario. But and esp with 410. One can load them with just a well stocked garage...

I remember when they came out. I was a kid and shot trap at a club my Dad belonged to. A guy came in one day with one of these. For some reason I want to say that the cost back then was about $8.00 for the kit. He had bought one in 12 ga. He demonstrated it at the club. I thought it was pretty neat at the time. This would have been in the mid-60's. I don't think my Dad was reloading yet. The club had a reloader and one of the members reloaded shells (paper at the time) and sold them for like $1.50 a box to members. We shot those until Pop had one come apart in his semi-auto and the blast out the action killed his hearing in his right ear (shot left-handed). That was it for club reloads Pop bought a MEC 650 Jr. press. My job was to reload. I hated that press. Took forever to load a box of shells. I can only imagine how long it took to load a box of shells with that little Lee kit.

I got my start down the reloading rabbit hole with a second hand LEE LOADER for 30-30 and a part can of IMR 3031. Loved using that setup. I sort of collected a few more calibers, but the original 30-30 one was all I ever used. Always entertaining when a primer would go off at the kitchen table when my wife was nearby. Since that first LEE LOADER, I have gone way down the hole, but still enjoy reloading, casting, and lately powder coating.

I loaded a lot of 38 specials with years ago. At one time I must have had 20 various sets, the only one I have left is in 218 Bee.

Mine was using a Lee Loader to load .30-30 for my metal shop teacher in his office, at school, during school. A few students and I cast a few hundred bullets in the shop, and then I loaded hundreds of rounds for him. I don't remember the powder, but it was a stick powder, so 3031 seems likely.
