I must be a real sissy. 42 grains of 3031 and a little tuft of Dacron under a 535 Postell in my 13.5 lb 45/90 just about brings tears to my eye after just a few rounds.
The extra bullet weight matter more than velocity in my shoulders opinion. Hard to shoot 500+ gr of lead and not generate recoil.

I've been running numbers in the Strelok app .
I'm surprised by the numbers really but a bit amused by them .
I can really lay the fire to a 405 ( it's a 45-70 so it's relative) and run it 1600fps and get the virtually same numbers back as a 535 457132 at 1100 fps . Being that slow I can cast it soft maybe knock it down to 525 gr with a drilled HP and get all the joy .
For grins I ran that 600 HTC NOE makes at just 1000 fps , it will eclipse both of the above . I know how hard a 325 Leverevolution kicks and I've pushed a 350 to 1900 which in a light rifle was plenty of recoil . The 535 sub was actually quite pleasent to shoot in an 1895G, I don't know about all day but 50 would certainly not be exhausting really . I find if you have a little bit of rifleman's skill and a knowledge of the loads , a 150 yd zero makes 200 pretty easy to guess in . Past that of course hold over becomes feet pretty fast . Nearly 4' at 300 yd and 5.5 plus by 400 .

I shoot the NOE version of this bullet out of my 1885 SBL and also like it with 2400. The mould comes with a flat/cupped/HP pins also and it makes great bullets. In the pic below is a solid bullet as cast and then coated with HiTek and gaschecked. This is a great all around bullet for the 45-70 in the Marlin Lever.

I love shooting my guide gun 330 grain bullet with 24 gr 2400.
The guide gun has a real nice recoil pad factory installed which I am sure helps a bunch.
It by no means is weak knee’d load but shoots well and can be shot all day.
I would not want to stand in front of it!
