Have a Marlin XTL in 22 LR. Bought it a few years ago for squirrel and rabbit hunting. My daughter and I can both shoot out the center of an Ace of diamonds at 50 yards. Lol it kills rabbits farther than that just avent shot for groups past 50.

Thanks again for the many suggestions. After I started this search I found this 22lr league here local to me (about an hour away), so I am planning on attending one event to see what they shoot:

I have been on contact with the match director and asking guidance on the range, target sizes, scope range preference, etc.. I shared this with my daughter and she is also interested in participating :)

Look at all the bloop tubes and suppressors in the NTxR photos! Must be nice to live in the USA!

I have been VERY pleased with the CZ-452/455 rifles I own/have owned. I did "free-float" one of the barrels on a 455, that of my 17 HMR. I slipped in .035" spacers under the OEM stock's action pad/guard screw recesses, and scattered hits went away instantly without the need to fully-bed the action. This had the effect of removing barrel/fore-end contact, and on calm days the rifle and ammo it liked did great work. No fault of the rifle--the 17 HMR is VERY wind-sensitive, and the places I shoot are wind-free about 15-20 minutes per year.

CZ rifles come with inch-pound torque specs for every screw they use. Be mindful of same--proper torquing makes a telling difference, esp. on guard screws.

Here is my custom 10/22 (Kidd parts, Volquartsen barrel, etc.) with my Form 1 suppressor:

Really windy today, but still went out to try a couple of ammo brands/types. So far Gemtech 42gr Match Subsonic and CCI Subsonic Small Game 40gr (1050fps) shot best at 50 yards, with Eley Contact Subsonic semi-auto coming in at 3rd place. Now that I got the new scope set at 50 yards, I need to go again with these 3x ammo candidates to try at 100 yards to try to pick the ONE for the upcoming competition.

Thanks for the advice and experience with CZ. Right now waiting to go to the first event, but a little biased right now towards a CZ 457 at the moment ;)

Last weekend, when I looked at the groups, I noticed that although very windy, the groups were larger than I expected. I forgot that my custom 10/22 has a special fast twist Volquartsen barrel 1-9, for the 60gr Aguila subsonic rounds.

Since my receiver, trigger, etc. are Kidd parts, I decided to order one of their threaded 16.5" bull barrels. Installed it last night, and went today to the range. Again, windy, but got "better" groups today - but still needs lots more practice. These were the 3x that did best, doing 10-shot groups:

I felt the most consistent was the Gemtech, which is the one most likely I will try next weekend when I go for the practice run at the competition range, and of course to find my "dope" for 50-200 yards :)

The best 22 I have is the Pre sn. Brno tooled & built when they were setting up a factory in China! (Probably early 70's) It is a very solid piece Very accurate and responsible for 5 Fox and untold number of Ground Hogs in my yard! 24 " barrel

A good friend just took delivery of a CZ 457 with that fancy Anshutz walnut stock 20/21” heavy barrel. Super nice gun!
we are gonna measure for ring mounts and mount up a temp use scope while he decides on glass for it.
We will Compare it to my lil Marlin Squirrel. It’s uncanny accurate.

Wouldn't ya just know, faced with a long Winter, and you are at you most vulnerable, doesn't one of your buddies come up with the idea that we need to shoot long range .22 next year. We already shoot to 200 yards. No......300 and 400 yards to really challenge us. So now the scramble is on. My 513T is stuck with what it has for a trigger, I need a Mil-Dot scope because we are going to shoot known size targets at unknown distances. Now I want to build a 10-22 and get a CZ 457 Varmint MTR. Got a local gun show coming up on the 7th and I have a table reserved. Now to cull the flock to generate money to spend with Tony Kidd etc.
Will we never grow up?

So do I, but I am old!!!!!

When I was 65, there wasn't enough hours in the day to relax; it was run, do and go! Now when it is zero out, the fire place and petting the dog are more important.

Do yourself a favor and look at a Tikka T1x. Really nice adjustable trigger. Way more accurate and precise than I am and uses Tikka T3x accessories. And light enough to be a field gun.

At our Dec Boy Scout Campout, one of the dads teaching with me had his Tikka T1x so I saw it in person. He also hunts with a Tikka Centerfire, and loves the T1x. That would certainly be another option to the CZ 457. You can see the T1x here in the lower left, with the blue tape (he was making a custom cheek riser) and the suppressor. My daughters 10/22 and 300Blk (both with F1 suppressors) are on the far right:

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Quite a bit fancier than the rifles we shot at Scout camp. I think they were all Remington 510's, Winchester 69's and Mossbergs. I don't think a one of them was ever cleaned or protected from rust!

About two weekends ago I was able to finally try my 10/22 at 100 yards, and the wind was relatively light :)

Nothing to brag about - just sharing what I have been able to achieve, these with the new Kidd barrel (all shot with the suppressor in place):
