My Ultradots are 4 MOA. Draw a bold 5" circle on paper at 100 yards and aim point becomes 1 MOA. 4 MOA is perfect for handgun hunting.

No I mean a one OR two minute dot.

Aim point, Ultra Dot, Some Vortex, Halosun and even older Tasco can be found in 2 min. Aim point has both.

Yes Tridjicon, while excellent are mostly larger dots.

Sorry to confuse.

12.9 MOA, that's for close range tanks and zeppelin shooting?

That big of dot, yes.

Triangle different story..............use apex of triangle for distance, whole triangle for up close and personal. No need to adjust settings, then.

Long ago I mounted a 2x Tasco 30mm pistol scope on a 6.5" Ruger SSM .32 H&R. With a neck lanyard and sitting using my knees I killed several prairie dogs up to 100 yds. Offhand, you will learn to control those wobbles when that scope shows you what's going on. I dont use scopes on revolvers any more but I've been thinking hard about a Burris fast fire for my .41 mag Blackhawk.
I'm limiting my iron sight handgun shots to 50 yards from here on.

I never found a 2X to magnify much if any. More a tube with a cross hair. At times even make things look smaller and further away.

Am I a fan of optics on wheel guns or lever guns, no, but I have several set up as such. I set up my FA 44 with a Leupold 2.5-8. I will say it probably will be around 5X for most use.

Everyone’s eyes are different. I have used a Burris 5X for 1/2 size IHMSA work in years past. They are a very good optic over looked by many. The only reason I removed it was it handicapped me for shoot off targets @200. Next to impossible to hold on a .22 chicken @200.

It is tough for me to find an optic with magnification that I can use with my arms fully extended. I think that is where a lot of folks have issues. They will raise the pistol and then fight trying to get a full field of view, in-out-up-down. Takes some practice and getting use to.

Exactly! I find a 2x very difficult to use, makes the target appear 1/2 size and twice as far away.

I think they round the numbers up, marketing? 1.55x=2X

Take a variable set at its lowest depending on make can be marked 2 or 2.5. It is a fair bit larger than a straight 2X.

I shot it the other day and after getting zeroed it started to really grow on me. I agree that it can make things appear smaller.
But I can’t argue with hitting steel consistently at 90-120 yards. With the standard sights the 6” plates at 100yds were pretty safe.

I've got a Ruger SRH with a 2X Bushnell. It came as a Package with a Aluminum case from Davidson's. First Scoped Revolver I ever really experimented with. No longer wears the scope.
I just can't shoot a Scoped Handgun off hand. Tried it 20yrs before on a .357 Blackhawk. Nope just can't do it.

Have 14" Contender bbl's with 4X and 2X7, shot only from a rest.
And yes I can use a 2X fine on a Handgun when rested, I can see the magnification fine. But the Wobble is pretty obvious. It's Really Bad on 7X, then I've always thought of Contenders as a Hand-Rifle rather then a Handgun.

Nice pictures.
I know how hard it is to shoot a decent group with a scope mounted handgun. I went to a 1/2" targ-dot for a 2X scope at 50yrds, plain orange. When the dot disappeared I squeezed the trigger. worked for me.
