Adding copper to alloy

Would it add copper to the alloy if you were to add some copper clad 22 lr bullets to the pot? That seems easy to do, but would it work? I have a bulk pack of Winchester 555 that I bought during the shortage period, the slugs are oversized and will not chamber in my Ruger Mk II target model, I measured a few at .2255.

yes.
you'll see the copper sheen the top of the alloy after a bit.
just flux it into the mix and it will stay.
your gonna be guessing at how much your putting in the pot but you will have copper in there.

Problem is getting enough copper to have the desired effect. Seems like .3% is a good amount. Need about an ounce of copper in 20 pounds of alloy to get there.

There is often copper cable still attached to battery terminals when you get them in a bucket of lead. Seems it floats out with the bolts in my plumbers pot.
The alloy calculator lists pewter as having .05 % copper in it. Not sure how accurate that is, because pewter varies in content also.
