Any ammo / firearm shortages where you are ?
I realize most of us are " self sufficient " in this arena.
However, ..........
The general public is in a quasi panic here.
Some areas report an increase in sales of 800%.
Many shelves are empty.

Pretty much gone in my neck of the woods too. After Trump was elected and ammo and components became plentiful my brother and I decided to make hay while the sun was shining. Could I have more 22lr, powder, primers, and lead? Sure. But I could weather a pretty long storm if I couldn't buy more for years to come.

All gone in Texas.. everybody I know has called me asking for ammo. I've given out what I have to family. But everybody that knows I reload has hit me up. Even had a good friend inquire about a gun and ammo.

We are locked down, essential services only and gunshops and sporting goods stores are not on that list. Our Walmart has had scant picking since they decided to drop some ammo. (AR, AK, and handgun) I haven't purchased commercial ammo in many years.

Last week, the local gun store's ammunition shelves were almost bare. Not many handloaders, round here, so the factory stuff goes very quickly. The store is now closed, though I suspect the owner is there and transferring approved sales.

Indoor range said no more 223 or 9mm. They had a fair bit of 45 ACP on the shelf.
I have not gone to the LGS to see what the shelves look like there.
I can assure you that I am in good shape. I need to cast a bunch of bullets and get busy loading. Would be no problem to hit 10K rounds loaded. I could reload them a few times before having any troubles.

I was in one of our larger sporting goods dealers in Missoula Mt. last weekend. They still had 5.56/223, 9mm, 45 and 40 ammo as well as a bunch of 22 rimfire on the shelves. None of it was the cheap bulk stuff but it was still available at a price. The reloading section (mostly powder) was picked over a bit more than normal. I bought a 250 count of 50 grain Hornady V max for gopher season. The gophers are out low but mostly still two weeks till there out.

I plan to have more on hand at the end of day tomorrow than I had at the start. Kinda weird, I won’t even leave home to make that happen.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
We got sacked for 9mm & 223 as well.

I just shrugged my shoulders and headed down to the garage. I think a few more primers are in order though. :)

I went to the principle gettin' place here in town two Mondays ago at lunch to see if they had any Reloder 7, they had one pound but more than 4 of every other kind they stock and I passed because the gun counter was three people deep and 80 feet long, couldn't even see the ammo behind the main counter. People were buying guns like it was the last day they ever could.

Went back this Monday at lunch to get something for work and there was ONE person at the gun counter and five employees. Powder/primers looked about the same. I walked out with that last pound of Reloder 7 and never glanced at the ammo. I did see quite a few rifles still on the rack but many had been sold. The handgun cases were virtually empty.

Like you Ian. Thursday the 12th I went to Cabela and LGS. No 9mm or .223 then. Eastern WA sheriffs have declared gun shops essential business and are open, but nobody can buy guns because of the mental health checks that are not being done. None of my friends have been to one since lock down on the 20th.

We have only been to wallmart for the last 3 weeks-----looks like no one there to sell or get any ammo, all roped off?

Have not looked at ammo in about 6-8 weeks. That is when I first noticed the Academy shelves starting to seriously thin.

Having said that, punched 600 Federal LPPs into 45 ACP cases last night. Still have ~2400. Same with LPPs. But was perusing other forums/someone mentioned primers. Seems there are ZERO Federal 150 LPPs ANYWHERE!

Guess when the panic is over, I just need to get 5K each of LPP and SPP.... This crap is getting OLD QUICK!

My local gun shop is turning out their remanufactured 9mm by the thousands and processing lots of brass for other ammo. Gun sales still available but indoor range is closed to the public.

On about the 12th I had Midway, Brownells, Powder Valley, and Midsouth all pulled up in different browser tabs, logged in, and was making a serious effort to locate Reloder 7 and CCI 300 primers. The handwriting was on the wall...when shortages start making the news a certain demographic sucks up all the AR-15 parts, ammo, and components, usually in that order. Couldn't find the two together in reasonable quantities at any one place so I said screw it, I have an excuse to start burning up all the odds and ends of powder and primer brands/types I don't ordinarily use but acquired a couple of shortages ago. Didn't take long for things to run their course this time, like less than two weeks.
