PM me with your snail mail address and I'll send some samples of il Grande Diabolo when the mold arrives. Already have your email to share test data. With factory .410 slugs now selling for over $2 per pop, we need affordable options...

WC in a 9mm ? You don't say ?
148 , like 2.8-3.0 Unique , 600 fps ...... I think I looked at 38 short data and decided that 150% wouldn't hurt a 9mm .
Novelty load , fun , clean holes , full clean cycle . 75bd3621-a50b-4a54-ac72-d2f026633e65.jpg

I got my press set up Josh sent me and loaded my first shells after setting it up.

I started by depriming, sizing and re priming about fifty cases. I shortened five cases and
Then I loaded them up . Using 2/.390 balls a stump wad and a couple card wads.

Lastly I also received a Aussie Roll crimper. I was a lil miffed when I saw it was computer printed. But that faded as I saw how well
It worked.

you do know mec makes a roll crimp die set for those machines.
I wouldn't buy one with the way your hulls are coming out, just sayin.

No, actually I did not know.
These roll crimps are fabulous!

Do you see a problem with them or am I missing something?

maybe a little deeper than factory type stuff [shrug] but as long as they are consistent and you keep them that way your good.

as we know, roll crimps have lower pressure [about 1500-K less] than fold crimping so going a little on the deep side is not harmful [or helpful depending on where you are on the scale] like a deeper fold crimp would be.

Shortened my cases a lil more and loaded up another handful. This particular case didnt trim as cleanly and left some tails. Here is a pic of that Aussie roll crimper. Almost looks like metal but its not.

kinda rough huh?
do you have a stop set on your drill?
and are you skiving the hull mouths?
both should help get them even more even.

put a very small dab of vaseline in the roll crimper for each shell. They will come out a lot nicer. I think the crimper is rough from the layers of the print that is causing the burrs on the mouth.

Guys as stated the fibers are from CUTTING not roll crimping.
Yes I always use the stop otherwise Id never see any kinda uniformity in anything! Learned long ago about proper making of bloopers! :headbang: And inconsistent pressures seating is a good way to get them! Yup on the tapered abrasive cone... ;)

But Ill try Vaseline inplace of a mist of WD.

Ill have ta measure for ya, Rally. Ill get down there later. Dia was .407 IIRC.
