Any one shooting 350 Legend?

Ooooh, that looks like a good one. Not just a good design but well made. The RG moulds that I have tried to cast with had burrs all over the grooves and required hours of filing, sanding, polishing, and tuning to make work but that one looks like it was GTG.

I ordered all remaining parts for my 50 Stste rifle today.

I went with a Faxon barrel. I never got answers from Boyds on there wooden forends. So Ill go with what I have and "trade up" later.

I got some rounds loaded last night with the 1680. Going to try to get out this weekend some time to get some #'s I don't think I will get as fast as what you got in your bolt gun. I have a 16" barrel. Not sure what your barrel is.

The bolt barrel is also 16", with a 3.5" linear Comp. but doubt that changes velocity.

I agree same exact loads you should aught be just touching my heals in velocity.

We are getting close to the season and I need barrel break in and load development!!

I have the new NOE hp loaded in same ladder as the 358430 for Sunday afternoon too!
Good luck my friend!

Wow! I LIKE IT! Anything goes in Texas but I find myself wanting a more traditional rifle form. I see a gas tube but no buffer tube, I assume semi-auto but has dual spring recoil springs/rods in the upper above the BCG like the Sig ARs with folding sticks had?

It sure does. The fleur was a giveaway but I couldn't figure iut the Monte Carlo until you said trap model. It would make sense to use off the shelf parts as much as possibe. The recoil system may even be the same as 1100 after looking on the web and seeing how the sawed-off bolt carrier pushes on the recoil piston via an angled rod, just like the 1100.

that is exactly how a browning model 50 works except the butt stock spring is adjustable so you can tune the spring pressure to your loads.
the super-X line by Winchester has a bolt and hammer that looks just like that too only it is powered by gas pushing on a rod under the bolt instead of direct to the top.

as long as you keep that thing clean it will run super reliably, the design has been around long enough for sure.

These MP- 359-220 cast are showing real real promise. Shooting better then many even in loads that dont shoot well! ;)

I havent shot alot of them and need more testing but these may prove best overall. I like the 358430 and its my best ever accuracy with a cast. But I feal drawn to this HP. Its smaller then the NOE 360-197. I fear even hardening it wont do as I expect at rifle vel. But the MP is smaller and different orofile. I have shot into wet news print and dont get expansion as soon or quickly. As more open designs.

Traded my cheap acquired rem 700 on a Ruger Ranch 350L today. It won't be in till next week. My dealer said he just got a shipment notification today on two of them. He did not say which ones they were but he said they were the short ones. Hopefully it is not the compact ones. At least one of them anyway.

I'm tired of the AR15 chewing up the brass. And this way I can start shooting those heavy bullets like CW is working on.

Range day today.

Loaded up a box of 22g 4227/180g SSP RE-sized to .356. Fired some @ 100.

100 yard shooting, Left group; Is the results. First two shots are 1.5" high mostly centered... Third shot was 5.5" lower and 1.5" to right... Fourth shot was back "up" 2" below first shots. Fifth show was not found.

Right pattern is shot with Factory 145g ammo. Its a 3x6" pattern...

Then I tried a few SUB loads.

THEY IMPACTED 6" HIGH @ 50 yards. Trouble is... My RUGER BOLT. Shoots SAME ammo 4.5" LOW at same Distance. I then tried the new Sarco Bullet loaded on top of 10g of Herco. Its a super Sonic loading. I didnt chrono, but estimate the velocity at 1300 fps. It also shot HIGH! Above and off the target.

I moved the 22g load back to 50 yards. Last time it shot touching holes. NOPE... 3" group!

I took all these loads and fired them from the Bolt.

I tried Factory 145 & 180 G Winchesters and all seem to shoot as erratically.

I can only assume my first assumption. Barrel whip. This barrel has problems. Im gonna see if Faxon can do anything about the barrel they made.

I sent off a email yesterday evening.
Informing Faxion of what I had found and was experiencing. They replied this afternoon!!
BIG KUDOS TO PROMPT REPLY!!

They acknowledge I have extinguished all things they would ask me to do.

They requested a mailing address for a replacement barrel.

Aslong as its in stock I should see a replacement otherwise Ill need to wait for next production run.

Stay Tuned. But so far, Faxon. Is firing on 8 cylinders here!!

I dont condemn for having a lemon or issue with a product. In my book service AFTER THE SALE defines a companies core values.
