yeah screwing down a taper die can mess you up.
i use my 357 T/C die to squeeze loaded over size powder coated bullets just enough for a slip fit in my Dan Wesson.
they are backed up by a bunch of bulls-eye.
in the 45 colt i've only used the taper die for stuff that pretty much mimics 45 acp type loads.
everything else i roll crimp.
