Anybody use any of the "gun paint" type finishes?

I can vouch for Ceracote. Had my SS Marlin 1894 done up, years ago and has held up remarkably well. I like stainless guns but this one was just too bright. I sent it out to a place in Kansas, called Fit4Duty.

I see the "repair" on the crossbolt. :) Mine is an o-ring on my GG.....cost me a nice
Impala. GRRR. BOY is that 'click' LOUD when you are hunting, and darn sure that the
impala heard it and ran.

I have wondered about the shiny finish of my GG. The PH in RSA did not like it, so I taped
over the barrel with some black electrical tape that was available to knock down the shine on
sunny days. May do some painting on it.

My Marlins all have the safety off and I just ignore it. Never had an issue in the woods at all.

That rifle looks pretty good John. Not flashy but well done.

Mine was "off", too, I was taking exactly that same view, if I just ignore it, no problem.

But somehow the darned thing got bumped on. With an o-ring, not a problem.

O-ring, for hunting, definitely. O-ring is easy to defeat with a pocketknife, sharp stick, toothpick, or paper clip in a pinch if a safety nazi is after you for some reason.

I always wanted to replace mine with the saddle ring conversion, but for the years that I searched the places that had them were always out of stock. I kind of lost interest at this point.
