Anyone Cast for the 450 Bushmaster?

The round flat points feed pretty well, the lyman 330g HP feeds like a charm also, haven't tried the others, the screwed up part is it doesn't like the round nose, at least the Lee 's, been suggested it's the mag and I suspect that is correct. I may have to part with some cash and get a couple better ones, I am using the mags midway sells for the .450BM, not an actual factory mag. I built this one from the ground up so never actually had a "factory" mag to compare to.

What hardness you cast at? (for the .450) I alloy to around 20 and heat harden a bit, I shoot for *26 on the lee tester, not as accurate as I would like but should be good enough from what I have read, BHN all over the place, some like it low some like it high, alleged performance plus's from both sides of the scale. I have always alloyed for the pressure's I am shooting, or just a little under and count on the PC to take up the remainder, so far I have had good luck, I can shoot cast all day long and no lead deposits and accuracy is not been an issue.

My 122 hp are from AC WW to 20:1 depending upon impact velocities.

MOSTLY Ill alloy to about 16 for rifle and 10/12 for pistol.

yep, 10-12 is where I hang for pistol but I seem to get a little better accuracy with rifle when I go a little harder

Im also powder coating no lubing.
When I was only traditionally lubing I needed the hardness too.

Same here, I PC everything, no lube, I've got something called steel-it I am going to try out next. I like to get samples of "super tough" polymers and coating and try out now and then ,some ok, some not most of the ones that do work cost more than fmj's which kind of defeats the whole casting idea but I'm not in it just to save money, I'm an engineer so I can't help myself, I think those guys that get to design and test ammo have got to have the greatest job in the world...

I use much and many different powders. Most have been good. Have seen any related fouling at all in the 450 in three different barrels.

I shoot a 310 grain from a custom Mountain Mold with excellent results in my 450 Bushmaster. I designed the mold for a 45LC revolver, but it feeds and shoots in my Bushmaster.
