Only cartridges I have stored away are those I just won't ever shoot.
Some 1903 made 30 Mauser that came with a "Large Ring, Flatside" Broom Handle made in 1897.
Some 1943 30-06 that came with a 1943 Springfield M1 Garand.
Some 1952 30-06 in Garand clips.

I have dabbled with collecting cartridges over the years. Once met a gentleman who had two friends who were rather serious, oddly enough it wasn't one or a few of each, or boxes etc. They both only collected one cartridge type, one was 30-06 head stamps and the various projectiles, the second was into 9x19. Each of their respective collections reported were numbered in well into several thousand single rounds of '06 and 9x19 respectively o_O. Rather mind boggling when you think about it, all of the various arsenals, manufactures, years of production, projectiles, etc. production

I collect old people. I store them all right here……
Well, I guess if someone's collecting something, it must be worth something...

Heck of a collection, too. Exceeds the quality of any other such collection I've encountered to date - by FAR.

Boy oh boy, nice stuff!

You don't even want me to post pics of my collection. The site owner will tell me I filled up his drive space allotment with pictures!

I have some weird wild cat cases that I have put out on the modern shooting forums and everyone is puzzled. I actually have sent some cases to the knowledgeable wild catters and it can't be identified! I only have a few left!
Got them when a bunch of my friends took a weighed 55 gallon barrel of range brass to sort out from the recyclers! We only paid a fee on what was missing in the barrel when we brought it back!
I hope I can find the photos of them to post here

Here's one for you. I've been told this is an early wildcat known as the .45-55 Caldicott Improved. No head stamp markings.
OK I'm puzzled! How does one cut a chamber for that cartridge!!!!!
Would like to hear from the Machinist Here!

someone cobbled together. Or an Iranian RPG. Saw a vid of middle east ammo factory - wondered if that ammo actually fired.
I figure I got about 5 yrs of active life left so I've got a list of what goes to whom. All leftovers go to the scrapper or circular file. Only cases I save are to be re-loaded. But I do remind her that case brass brings good $ at the scrapper. Primers or powder - sell here!
