Anyone Shooting the NOE 228-74-RN?

I didn't know NOE was copying the RCBS mold.
either way the rcbs only needs 219 right in front of the drive band to align things, it isn't a bore ride bullet so it doesn't rely on the nose to do most of the work.
it just needs that diameter up there to help ride the funnel letting the back end find it's way in.
I used that same diameter and taper for the HM-2 mold but strengthened the area right there a bit more.

Thanks for clarifying that Fiver. I do have a few samples on the way to try before I order a mold.

Bullet samples are in and I have several dozen of 3 different styles to try out. The RCBS clone, sized to 0.225 should give me about 0.0005" clearance. I remeasured the pound slug )after cleaning my micrometer faces) and it was actually closer to 0.2255". I have the lube die on the way and some gas checks on order. I'll be trying 2500+ and BLL, separate and combined. The aimpoint mount will be on order within the next few days, but for now I have open sights.

the open sights are enough to give things a go.
you'll see what's what pretty quick if you pay attention, nit-pick your steps, and keep notes on what changed what.
