Hi Ben...thanks for sharing this one. I decided to give a couple of Ruger Mk II pistols a wipe down with BLL for rust prevention during storage.. Goes on really nicely, dries fast and leaves a bombproof coating. I took one out of the safe the other day to take some pics for a fellow looking to buy. Wiped off the BLL with a terry cloth rag and buffed it up with a clean cloth. I'm telling you there is no better way to show off the deep bluing on a gun that this stuff....far better than oil, it leaves a deep lustrous waxed look to it. Unreal how nice that gun looked....so good I almost didn't want to sell it. Thanks again Ben...all my metal that needs protecting gets a coating....it works great

Amazing stuff isn't it.
Makes me wonder how a fellow as dumb as I am could come up with something like Ben's Liquid Lube ? ?

It's very useful for that if you can stand the smell. Alox and RIG grease are calcium-soap based greases due to the natural mineral content and are inherently water-repellant. What I wipe my tools with in the shop is a mix of Johnson's one step and JPW....no calcium but the paraffin and synthetic liquid wax work very well as an O2 barrier.

I’d have to argue with you on that one Ben. I would have to say pretty smart indeed....genius level maybe?:headscratch:

Yup.....always look forward to your posts Ben...and a bunch of others on here. We ride on the coat tails of those who have done all the hard work figuring this stuff out before us, and you shorten the learning curve substantially. Thank you all for helping me with my addiction.......I hope I never have to go into rehab...I want to do this forever....Haaaa

I haven't tried it as gun coat, but that's a good idea. I could see some of my ML barrels benefiting from a lite coat of that. Thanks!
