One thing I will recommend for you guys that shoot traditional black powder. I use a haard felt wad between tithe powder and the conical bullets. I also lube the felt wad.

I really like the LEE REAL conical bullets. I shoot a .50cal. TC. I have shot both the 250gr and the 350gr and they both shot the same out of my guns. But the biggest improvement was the felt wads. They cut the groups in half. It made a big difference in the groups with the TC maxiball 375gr also.

Wet wads make a huge difference in revolvers too . The first time I shot my 58' it was so gummed up shots 11&12 needed manual cylinder assistance to get to battery . Last time I was out I shot over 100 rounds with no binding and the base was only sticky the first 1/4" not pry bar and a come along stuck . It was also still shooting 6 on a pie plate at 50 yd .

Offshore, The lube is primarily a patch lube, which will melt when you rub it into patches. If you want to firm it up a bit, e.g., for conicals, just add beeswax in small amounts.

Thank you, Sir. I may just give this a try over the weekend.

I used Vaseline hand lotion and Hopes 9+ roughly 50/50for patch lube.

Conical got beeswax and Crisco adjusted for stiffness. Shot lots of minis in the zen field and it was good at keeping loading fast as smooth
