I know the Alox formula has changed. The new Alox is what's being used in BLL? Picked up ingredients for both Bens Red and Bens Liquid. Just need to order Alox.

I used Xlox. Results are highly satisfactory.

I poured it into a much smaller bottle than Ben used until it was 40% full then filled it up with the Johnsons wax and shook it.
I was amazed at how thin it was. That really helps in getting a thin uniform coat.

I have now lubed around 2000 bullets with it and the level in the bottle has barely changed.

Ian, I've read those threads over and over but thanks for adding that. I just wanted to make sure the new Alox was used for this. I'll have to wait a week to make lube since I'm going offshore for 7 days. Doing my part to meet America's energy needs! By the way, local Lowes had quite a few bottles of Johnson One Step. Picked up 2 along with a can of paste. Thinking I'll go pick up a few more. Really looking forward to trying it out. Thanks for the help guys! I love this place.

I just threw them in for reference in case you hadn't found them yet, or for anyone else who stumbles across this thread later since the title "BLL" is likely going to get more hits in someone's search than spelling it out like in the other threads.

Not sure what "new" Alox is, but the 606-whatever molasses-colored, sticky, stinky glop that found it's conception aimed at off-shore equipment rustproofing (sound familiar?) and automotive undercoating is what you're after for one of the ingredients of BLL. A lot of people who don't have any on hand in the Lee bottles are getting it from White Label Lubes by purchasing their product "X-lox". It's the same stuff, just different name due to corporate copyright reasons.

I'm glad you're still able to make a living with regular unleaded gasoline falling below $1.85 a gallon at south Texas pumps, lots of boom and bust elsewhere in the oil industry.

It's effecting employment for sure. Company I have worked for has sold all properties in the Gulf of Mexico. Put in over 31 years with them. Fortunately the new company has offered us jobs. This is not a good time to be hunting a job in the oilfield. Most do not know the cost for drilling a well out in deep water. Just want to blame the "evil oil companies" for high gas prices.

I may be wrong but I thought I had read that the newer Alox had changed. That's why I asked.

Maybe Lubrizol did something to it recently, I don't know. Ben used the liquid Alox that Richard Lee introduced most of us to.

Well my boss just gave me a $50 gift certificate to amazon.com so guess what I just ordered $50 of. Now the list of ingredients for BLL is complete!
