Brno mauser question

A guy I know was talking about a rifle that was "locked up". I had him send me some pictures. It's a brno mauser with a fair amount of external rust. Anyway, I explained how to operate the safety and remove the bolt. I might go to his house and help him with it. It's an old military rifle with all the wood so I'm thinking it's not been altered.
Now for the question. Were any 8mm mausers from brno made with the .318 barrels, or would they all be the .323 variety?
Well, that was a dumb question. A quick search cleared it up for me. The .318 went away long before brno started producing rifles. Sorry for wasting your time.

No waste of time! I just went down another hole in the internet! Zbrojovka Brno was established in 1918. 1905 was the year they switched from .318” to .323”.

A bunch of .318 barrels lurked around into the 1920s in commercial rifles . If BRNO got a bunch of surplus with the license it could have happened to an early rifle.
