Burned some Norma 200 today

The last couple of range trips, I have tried Norma 200 in the .30-06. The burning speed is in 4198- territory, Short grains, extruded powder with moderate nitroglycerin content. Not the appropriate powder, perhaps, for warp-speed loads. But 24-26 grs have given very consistent results, with bullet weights ranging from 150-220grs. 5- shot accuracy around 1,1 MOA at 100m, shot from prone with support on a bag. A bench would have been better, of course. Absolutely clean case necks. No powder-positioning-yoga, or advanced reloading techniques.
Below is a typical group, shot with NOE311-166 RD-clone, this was the first couple of groups I shot with this bullet. It sure cuts some clean holes! When loaded to max COL, it still has its feet in the fire, but seems to work OK (As does the NOE 311-221, where the base is also in the boiler room).

I have ZERO experience with any of the Norma powders. I DO like the downrange 100m results, though.

It is only in the latter half of my reloading career that I have discovered the great value of the 4198-speed fuels like RL-7 and the 4198s. Castings in rifles would be a bleak landscape in their absence.

The very first powder I started my cast bullet shooting with, was imr 4198. In .308, and .30-06 with Lee bore riders. Results were good enough to keep me interested.... I really like the imr powder, but it is now unobtainable in Norway. I have been looking for a replacement in this segment, and Norma 200 seems to be it. Being short grained, it should also work very well in powder measures (I mostly use a Lyman digital dispenser, these days).
