Cabine Tree Locking Mould Handles.

Purchased a pair, years ago. Use to use them on RCBS two cavity moulds. Never tried them on multi cavity moulds. Mainly, because they are heavy.

Until, yesterday, that is. Installed and adjusted for a aluminum three cavity NOE mould.

Ladle casted for a couple of hours. Mould hand wasn't fatigued from having to maintain constant pressure on keeping normal handles, closed.

I've got a couple that I've used with my Paul Jones, Brooks, and Buffalo Arms single cavity BPCR molds. They work well, but I've mostly gone to Lee molds even though I have 4 KAL Tool and Die handles too. To be honest, I don't really know how many handles I have....

I have the same model as OP's. I can't keep the things adjusted to handle Lyman two cavity molds. I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get them working again. Went out and bought a Master Caster.

Thank you for posting those excellent photos, John. Never seen a photo of the Cabine Tree handles before and was veginning to think Ive3just been repeating legend about these constant pressure handles. I'm very much intrigued by your observation about reduced hand fatigue and may just have to cobble together something similar.

Don't own any Lyman two cavities, but never had any issues with RCBS two cavities. Since I started this thread, I've mounted them on a newly acquired Accurate four cavity iron mould with success. The handles have different sets of holes, to accommodate a multitude of different manufacture's moulds. The only other adjustment is the small threaded rod, to adjust the amount tension on the closure.

Right, threaded rod is the issue. First up, rod got damaged by the brass lock screw. Next it would not adjust to work two cavity Lyman molds. When the handles work right it's great. When they don't it's a real pain. Handles, in this case, could not be adjusted to close on those Lyman molds.

Look closely at the pictures of my handles. There is no locking screw on the rod. Your's may be a newer or cloned model. IIRC, Cabine sold the rights to manufacture the handles to Buffalo Arms. The handles are slightly a different configuration.

They offer optional aluminum ones, also.

Right, mine did come did not come from Cabin Tree. My handles are steel and welded together. My handles here predated the aluminum models. There was supposed to be a variation with cast handles. The handles in the attachments are much simpler than my model. Basically, the handles work very well. I am trying to get help with the adjustment problems.
