A concealed weapon is a tool and nothing more. It needs to work for the user.

I am a strong believer in the concept of the DAO snubnose revolver but the selection of the tool is only a small part of the bigger issue.

The decision to use deadly force, including being prepared to use deadly force (the act of carrying a firearm for SD) is a far more important part of the total issue.

The OP's statement, "....For her I think rather than a man stopping caliber. I would rather suggest a smaller "get off of me round" " is disturbing in a legal sense. If you have crossed the threshold of using deadly force, your unequivocal goal is to stop the attack. The tool used is not important.
As a result of that application of force the attacker may die or the attacker may not die- the results matter not, as long as the attack stops.
Comparing phrases such as "man stopping" to "get off of me" ; hints at indecision about deadly force. I would highly recommend that the OP determine that his daughter is prepared to use deadly force before they proceed any farther.

Your goal is to stop the attack. You may be able to accomplish that with a .22 short or you may be able to accomplish that with a 12 ga. slug. but in either case the person might die or might not die.

Kevin, I am a revolver guy. Gas guns, with the exception of 22's don't do much for me. I have a little J frame Smith, 2 3/4" bbl in 357. The 357's are stout and certainly a bit noisy, 38 in my opinion are quite nice. Really like the size and reliability of this little revolver. The SP 101 3" bbl in 357 is heavier, but nice size and the extra weight longer bbl, really make the 357's pretty manageable. My wife shoots these guns just fine, mostly 38's but the 357's as well. She likes the Smith and the Ruger better than her Bulldog 44. That light 44 can be a handful by comparison. But, Karyn can shoot them all quite well.
My sister in law carries a hammer less Ruger LCR in 38 special and is quite happy with it.
I also have a Walter P 22 which is like the Ruger SR 22, both small and 10 shot, I have carried the Walter before.. While I agree that a 22 is not much of a stopper, I would not volunteer to stand down range, and 10 quick shoots. Let's see, 10 40 solid grain pills = 400 grains of lead in a close pattern.
My wife is comfortable with the little Bulldog 44 or the small 357's. In this country four legged critters are as much of a concern as bipeds. That changes when in town.
Ruger offers the LCR hammer less revolver besides the 22LR, also the 22 mag, 327 mag and 38 special. The 327 mag can be loaded with the 32 S&W long, or the 32 H&R mag, either would be easy to control and do some damage.
