Do we have anyone that collects old Herters loading equipment?
Cleaning shop today and found three(3) Herters dies that I have no idea
what they were used for.
If we have someone I will take pictures ( which I am lousy at) and post them.

I have a few pieces of Herters reloading stuff. I seem to recall that Herters may have been rebranded stuff from (maybe) Pacific? The reloading collectors site may have more info.

I'm not a collector but I too have several die sets , a collet case trimmer , and a 1972 catalog .

Not a collector. They just followed me home.

I’ve got two of their presses. A single and double ram. One was free, the other one was only a few dollars. I also bought a RCBS shell holder adapter, and some vintage shell holders when they popped up last year.

The presses that I have are threaded for standard 7/8-14 dies, but use the Herter’s proprietary shell holders.

Do your dies have a different thread?

Not a collector but I have a 308 Whack a mole copy of a Lee Loader, a micrometer powder measure, a powder dribbler, and a balance beam scale. All "Model Perfect" or some such. Never did see another business given to so much hype of their products. All but the little die set are well made and functional. The die set is crude compared to the Lee.

I have a bunch of Herter's stuff and consider myself a casual collector, but I am not an expert and since I am too young to have lived (as an adult) during Herter's time, I have no residual memories. Ole' George contracted with many different people/companies and wasn't known to treat his vendors well. A couple other die and tool makers that came and went, as a vendor for Ole' George, was HF Wells and Bystrom (Minnesota Shooters Supply).

I was at an auction locally once where a Herters aluminum canoe was up for bid. Nice looking rig in great shape. I was getting the "wants" real bad as at that time I was kind of on a Herters kick, collecting catalogs and bits and pieces. I was all set to bid and then I thought I should heft the canoe and check the bottom. Holy Fat Chicks In Spandex Batman!!!!!! That thing was HEAVY! I'd used a lot of Grumans and other "a-boom-alum" canoes, but this thing was made of lead compared to them. No way I was going to haul that thru the pucker brush and cattails by my lonesome. I think an Amish kid got it for $45-50 bucks.

The black ones are marked .357, .308 and .451.
The silver on only says it is Herters and the threaded stem screws into the body.

I’m pretty sure those are bullet swaging dies. The top post is an ejection pin.

Last year I sold a few boxes of Herter’s half jackets that probably would have worked with the .358 die.

I suspect they are worth a little bit to someone.

I think Josh is right. And they have a distinctly "C-H" look to them IMO.

It was very interesting going to their outlet center in Waseca. The "show room" was smaller than most kitchens. You would fight the other customers to give your paper order slip to an employee, watch him dissapear into the warehouse and hope they came back with all of your goodies.
If you got to the store before it opened, their was a coffee shop across the road where most customers paitently waited until opening time. An usually at opening time the coffee shop cleared out.
I was probably only 17 or 18 at the time.

Where would one go to find out the approx value of the above items?
Have no use for them and do not want to just junk them

The black and white ones are for bullet swaging. They are selling on fleabay for around 70 to 80. It seems that they used multiple bullet nose profiles with these dies.

The white one is a part of a primer pocket swaging set up. They are worth less and it seems you are missing parts for that one.

if you wanna sell them let me know.
all of them are missing pieces [the bottom stems] but I might have a corresponding part in my box of stuff here.
they all should also have a corresponding die for either core seating or point forming, depending on which half you have.
